We looked at how lighting of a picture/ movie can relate it to genre or create a different feeling or mood in a scene or scenes . We chose to do some horror themed images to show this using the studio lighting ...this way of lighting under the face creates really prominant shadows obscuring features.
the purple/ magenta filter was the one we tried first i think it would work better in red as then it would be more 'bloody' looking , the shadows cast because the lights are slightly lower and from one side are elongated and distorted. This is good for the mystery and demeanor of the killer presented 
the green fiter creates a stereotypically 'Horror" scene even without the iconography of the blood on the wall and the killers axe
