COLLEGE MAGAZINE -
FRONT COVER PHOTO SHOOT

my initial photoshoot for my college magazine front cover
I selected the hat and glasses as props as I felt they gave
an intellectual yet fun look to the images.I will choose an
image from this shoot for my front page

ABOVE; This photograph is reflective of the frivolous mood
and freedom of students and iit is at a really different quirky
angle however i think that perhaps it does not look proffesional
enough even for a student magazine cover.

ABOVE&BELOW; These are interesting photos however i
feel they are a bit too experimental for a college magazine
front cover.

ABOVE & BELOW; these images are both from a high angle ,
i love the way that the models hair looks and i think either
would be really positive for a magazine front cover. They are
very colourful and bright which would catch the readers attention.

ABOVE: This is the image I chose for my front cover

ABOVE;I feel that this image is really interesting
and the model looks good in it however, it might not portray
the right mood to the audience of a college magazine as
the model looks slightly worried this could reflect badly
on student life. Not good for promotion of a college.

ABOVE & BELOW; both of these images would make good
cover pages I particularly like the way that the model is
looking away from the camera as this could hold connotations
of looking in to the future.

ABOVE;I really like this image as a front cover shot
because it is very natural but not too un stylised it is
a very engaging image with the subjest making direct
eye contact with the audience.

ABOVE & BELOW; these two images would be really
good for conveying a positive atmosphere to readers
but they are slightly "snapshot" esque which may not
look proffessional on a front cover. The model looks very
natural though so it could look good for a student style magazine
as a natural look is usually what the clientel would look for.

INITIAL PHOTOGRAPHY EXERCISE

The above images use rule of thirds , this creats an interesing photograph as the focal point of the image is offcentre

in this photograph i captured juxtaposition between the bricks in a wall... the natural juxtaposition between old and new.

This is a medium high angle shot ,it shows the subject only partially and is taken from above the level of to subject-from a high angle.

Close up shot from a low a angle- this close up of the sign post was taken from almost directly below it, creating a harsh low angle the contrast of the black on the grey sky creates a bold composition.

I used the super macro lense to take this photographs , this creates a more intense focus on the subject of the shot.It is a close up of the bead work on a shoe, the macro lense brings the colourful beads to the forefront in the focus of the image making the composition of the image more striking. The denim blue frames the warm colours in the picture.
